In the original draft for the few comics the next few are based on, you got the first two panels followed by Spider-man being thrown out of the vault and landing on Hortortio's face. That'll still happen (sort of) but I thought drawing a little fight scene would be a bit more fun.

And it was!

I also discovered that Batarangs are ridiculously diverse. Go ahead; Goog'em. I ended up basing mine on these bad-boys, but I genuinely thought that they were the staple shape and style that Batarangs were. So there you go.

We will meet again on Thursday, stranger.

I guess Batman didn't have his necessary 'planning time' that allows him to dominate everyone else ;)

You need to use the homo-seeking batarangs, Batman! Oh, wait, he might get hit too...

Make a background with batman saying that and throwing it towards the screen :)

@Mags: I am entirely certain that Batman should dominate Spiderman without breaking a sweat... with appropriate preparation!

@Thorns: He might! He might not! It's a confusing business, this is. I guess the fastest way to figure it out would be to build some and find out!

@Ryan: You have a background readily available already! Go get that one!

Have you used the Arkham Asylum font for the 'KTHUNK's?

Because if so, that is great attention to detail =p

@geekgrrl: I'm rooting for that pompous DC guy to go down! And I write it, so I guess the odds are in my favour!

@Fil: I used a similar font called You Are Loved. It's pretty adaptable, as far as fonts go. I use it quite a lot!

For him to go down? Man, that's a double entendre for the ages...
